Welcome to Heaneys

Opened in October 2018 in the heart of Pontcanna we wanted to bring a fun, relaxed and accessible dining experience created around the way we ourselves enjoy when eating out. From our lunch menus to our tasting menus we concentrate on the season in hand, sourcing only the freshest of local ingredients we can get our hands on, and more importantly grown in our very own ‘Chef’s Garden’. Tommy works very closely with all our suppliers to ensure we get the best quality in produce. We try our best to offer a style of food, drinks and service unique to our personalities.

The atmosphere at Heaneys

Both Tommy & Nikki wanted to bring a really relaxed and chilled environment at Heaneys. Although both really appreciate and love silver service and all aspects of fine dining, low lighting and upbeat music was key for the pair to create when getting the keys to 6-10 Romilly crescent. If you look into the history of the building you’ll see how the pair decided to move the bar to the centre of the two level floored room to create this vibe.
Heaneys has been created to cater for all events and occasions, your quick work lunch break or that special occasion….we’re always on hand to adapt and create to cater to each requirement to the best of our abilities.

Fresh produce at Heaneys

Although we work closely with exceptional suppliers on the daily to retrieve only the freshest of produce, we kept ourselves busy in the first lockdown and created a ‘Chef’s Garden’ that can be seen as you walk into the restaurant. You will see our own grown produce aross our dishes and cocktails.

Tommy & Nikki

With a combined 40+ years of experience within the industry the pair both had big dreams from young ages of running their own establishment one day.

They were lucky enough to make those dreams a reality back in 2018. With Tommy’s appearance on ‘The Great British Menu’ and the help of a crowdfounder they thought it’s “now or never” and found themselves the perfect venue to make the plunge to ‘go it alone’.
